Since July, Staples Business Depot at 3135 Argentia Rd in Mississauga has worked hard to make the beginning of the school year a positive experience for at-risk children and youth who are receiving mental health services at Peel Children’s Centre.
As part of Staples’ 6th Annual School Supplies Drive, the Argentia store and its customers raised over $5,000 between July 23 and September 6 for Peel Children’s Centre.
“Since 2006, Staples has provided generous donations to ensure that children and youth at Peel Children’s Centre have the supplies they need to succeed at school,” said Humphrey Mitchell, Executive Director of Peel Children’s Centre.
“It is very encouraging to know that Staples and the community share our vision of A caring community working together for children and youth,” Mitchell said. “On behalf of the children, youth and their families, Peel Children’s Centre extends our heartfelt thanks to Staples’ Argentia store and its customers for this kind support.”
“The associates at Staples’ Argentia store join me in thanking our customers for their generosity in supporting Peel Children’s Centre, our chosen charity for the Annual School Supply Drive,” said Dave Guest, General Manager.
“Staples is proud to support education by helping schools and charities through programs like our Annual School Supply Drive,” he said. “Over the past six years, the supply drive has generated more than $2 million for schools, non-profit organizations and community groups across Canada.”
The Annual School Supply Drive is part of “Staples Soul”, a holistic approach to corporate responsibility that recognizes the close connection between Staples’ financial success and its desire to make a positive impact on its associates, communities, and the planet by joining together the following areas: diversity, the environment, our community, and ethics.
