Bowl with Maple Leafs’ Matt Stajan at Cosmic Bowl fundraiser for Peel Children’s Centre
Mississauga – Toronto Maple Leafs' #14, Matt Stajan, will be the celebrity guest at the 3rd Annual Cosmic Bowl fundraiser for Peel Children’s Centre on Thursday, May 31, 2007, 6:30 p.m. at Classic Bowl, 3055 Dundas St. West in Mississauga.
Stajan is the fundraising champion for Peel Children's Centre, a charitable community agency that provides high quality mental health services for children, youth and their families who are experiencing serious emotional difficulties. The Centre provides treatment services to 3,600 children and youth in the Peel community each year.
Stajan will bowl with the teams at the Cosmic Bowl fundraiser. Entertainment by 99.9 Mix FM and a great selection of individual, team and Balloon Pop prizes will add to the energy and fun of the event. Ways to participate in Cosmic Bowl include:
- Register your team of 4 or 5 bowlers (minimum $125 per bowler in pledges)
- Be a corporate lane sponsor for as little as $500 (signage will recognize lane sponsors)
- Donate prizes for the event
- Make a donation of any amount to Peel Children’s Centre.
Peel Children’s Centre is grateful to the principal sponsors of the Cosmic Bowl fundraiser:
- Silver sponsors, BDO Dunwoody LLP and Galcon Marine Ltd.
- Balloon Pop sponsor, Laurie Williams Pontiac Buick GMC Ltd.
- Media sponsors, The Mississauga News and 99.9 Mix FM.
"Please bowl with us to raise funds for children and youth throughout Peel Region," Stajan said. "Children's mental health problems affect our whole community. 18% of children – nearly 1 in 5 – have a mental health disorder. Without the treatment they need, these kids can disrupt classes, bully others, vandalize property and abuse drugs.
"But the good news is that Peel Children's Centre is here to help, and achieves excellent results with children and youth," Stajan said.
"So on May 31st, come bowl with us, have fun, and support a great cause. With your help, the 3rd Annual Cosmic Bowl will 'strike' again to help children and youth in our community," said Stajan.
