Retirement Announcement: Linda Lee-Berkowitz

Please join us in extending our best wishes to Linda Lee-Berkowitz, who is retiring from Peel Children’s Centre (PCC) and Nexus Youth Services (NYS) following 24 impactful years of service on March 31, 2018.

Linda first joined PCC/NYS in 1994 as a Day Treatment Clinician working with children, youth and families in PCC’s Intensive Services program. Later, Linda assumed the role of PCC’s first Manager of Preschool Services. In this role, Linda supported our increased focus on and understanding of the importance of early intervention in children’s mental health. For this important and innovative work, Linda was awarded the Mary Neville Award.

For the past decade, Linda has served children, youth and families in Peel as PCC/NYS’ Director of Clinical Services. In this role, Linda has provided strong clinical leadership to both our staff, as well as our broader Peel community. Her knowledge of and commitment to the child and youth mental health sector have been invaluable to our agencies’ work. We are also grateful to Linda for providing leadership in our partnerships with our child and youth mental health partners, as well as with those in child welfare, education, health and youth justice.

"Linda’s career with PCC/NYS has been characterized by passion, compassion and dedication to every aspect of her work, and in particular her unwavering commitment to keeping the children, youth and families we serve at the very centre of all clinical conversations," shared Ceri Harnden, Chief Officer, System Integration at PCC. "Linda’s presence at PCC/NYS will be deeply missed, but we wish her all the best as she begins the next exciting stage of her life."

Please join all of us at Peel Children's Centre and Nexus Youth Services in offering our heartfelt thanks and congratulations to Linda on her retirement.
