In less than two weeks, more than 180 volunteers from across Peel Region will converge on United Way agencies to roll up their sleeves for the spring Day of Caring.
Nexus Youth Services, which operates the Nexus Youth Centre in Mississauga’s Central Library, is one of the benficiaries of this community generosity.
One of the most popular (and needed) Day of Caring projects is painting, but it can be a challenge for agencies to afford the paint and supplies. Thanks to Lowe’s Home Improvement in North Brampton, these concerns are a thing of the past! For the second spring Day of Caring in a row, the store is providing dozens of cans of paint, as well as brushes, drop cloths, rollers, tape and other essential items.
Representatives from Nexus Youth Services will be at Lowe’s on May 5th to pick up painting supplies in advance of the May 13th Day of Caring at the Nexus Youth Centre.
