For the 8th year in a row, Staples Business Depot at 3135 Argentia Road in Mississauga selected Peel Children's Centre as their Charity of Choice for their 2013 Staples for Students Annual Drive. Staples helped to make the beginning of the school year a positive experience for at-risk children and youth who are receiving mental health services at Peel Children's Centre.
Bringing together support from the local community, Staples and its customers raised close to $4,600 between July 27 and September 9 to help ensure that children and youth at Peel Children's Centre will have the supplies they need to succeed in school.
Over the years, the supply drive has generated over $6.3 million dollars for schools, non-profit organization and community groups; helping thousands of Canadian students.
The Annual School Supply Drive is part of the "Staples Soul", a holistic approach to corporate responsibility that recognizes the close connection between Staples' financial success and its desire to make a positive impact on its associates, communities, and the plant by joining together the following areas: diversity, the environment, our community and ethics. More information is available at www.staples.ca.
Peel Children's Centre is a fully accredited, charitable agency that provides a continuum of high quality mental health services, free-of-charge, to 3,800 children, youth and their families each year.
