Peel Children’s Centre is looking for a highly skilled, mental health clinician who is interested in leadership and development of clinical teams and is passionate about child and youth mental health. This position forms part of the Clinical Management Team responsible for support of the clinical strategic direction, clinical decision-making and clinical policy development for Peel Children’s Centre and Nexus Youth Services. The Manager, Clinical Services leads a dedicated team of Clinicians, working collaboratively and cooperatively across the agency creating an integrated clinical operational service.

Peel Children's Centre is an accredited children’s mental health centre that provides a continuum of high quality mental health services for children, youth and their families who are experiencing or may experience serious emotional difficulties. Under the leadership of the Director, Clinical Strategy & Excellence, the Manager is accountable for the delivery of services that are in keeping with the organization’s Mission Statement, values, clinical and management philosophies, accreditation standards, policies, procedures and annual Service Plan. The activities of the Clinical Managers must enhance the development of Peel Children’s Centre and Nexus’ reputation and position as leaders in the delivery of quality services supported by sound management practices. When called upon, the Clinical Managers will represent the sector at community planning tables and collaborative processes in order to support community wide initiatives.

The annual salary range for this position is from $90,357 - $105,698
This is a full time position with a generous total rewards package of 4 weeks’ vacation in the first year, personal leave, group life/LTD/health/dental benefits fully paid by employer and a defined contribution pension plan.

Job Responsibilities
  • In conjunction with the Director and clinical management team, provide input into the Centre’s strategic planning, decision-making and policy formulation processes.
  • Responds to emerging trends and designs initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Identify, develop, implement and provide oversight of professional training and development programs to enhance skill, knowledge and professional development of clinical staff
  • Ensure the delivery of high quality clinical services through the integration of evidence-based practices and monitoring of program outcomes.
  • Initiate program development, enhance clinical practices and create approaches to client service that supports organizational goals.
  • Support the development of a coordinated system of services for children and youth in Peel Region.
  • Manage and respond to day to day operational issues developed as a result of new standards and legislation.
  • Contribute to the development of existing and new clinical services by identifying and communicating needs, recommending solutions and implementing approved plans in specific areas of assigned responsibility.
  • Contribute to the Centre’s annual planning process and assume responsibility for implementing approved targets and goals for area of responsibility.
  • Lead, support and implement clinical training and development plans and contribute to agency wide clinical initiatives and the ongoing development and enhancement of clinical practice.
  • Promote and incorporate Family and Youth Engagement Initiatives and other organizational initiatives.
  • Maintain an awareness of community needs for services within portfolio and participates in community meetings and professional groups as required.
  • Participate in Clinical On Call coverage roster.
  • Ensure quality services through regular reviews and supervisory meetings.Address and resolve performance issues in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, accreditation standards, policies and procedures.
  • Provide timely, accurate and comprehensive data to Standards and Development and Program Evaluation Processes as required.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Masters Degree in a related field with eligibility for membership in the appropriate professional association, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of seven years clinical experience, three of which must have been in a clinical leadership role, and knowledge of children’s mental health services.
  • Demonstrated clinical knowledge and skills in assessment and treatment modalities.
  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to develop and articulate a clinical direction, gaining acceptance and buy-in of others to that direction.
  • Well-developed communication, negotiation and liaison skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in partnership with others in terms of an integrated network of service delivery with other providers.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and promote diversity across the organization.
  • Ability to build credibility with others in a short period of time by acting with integrity, developing and maintaining positive relationships with others.
  • A proven ability to think strategically and to be able to plan and implement ideas.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with computer software and client database systems.
  • A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check is required.
