Peel Children's Centre is an accredited children’s mental health centre that provides a continuum of high quality mental health services to enrich the lives of children, youth and their families who are experiencing social, emotional and/or behavioural challenges. Through funding from Services Canada for the Canada Summer Jobs program, we have a position available to a full time students who plans to return to school in September 2018, providing valuable on-the-job experience.

Under the direction and guidance of the Supervisor, Finance and Administration, this position provides support to the Finance and Administration departments. All work is done within the context of the Centre’s Vision, Mission and Values, and in adherence with the Centre’s policies and procedures.

The Finance and Administration Assistant will provide assistance to the Finance and Administration department in the areas of purchasing, accounts receivable and petty cash as well as other financial tasks as assigned. The position will assist with various aspects of Accounts Payable including calculations, processing, and filing. The position will also provide assistance to the Administrative Support team as required in areas such as organizing departmental records and documents in accordance with policies, procedures, and legislation as well as providing backup reception coverage as the first contact for clients, their families, and the general public.

The successful incumbent will:
* Be registered as a full-time student in the previous academic year and will be returning to school on a full time basis in the September 2018 academic year in a recognized Business Administration or Bachelor of Commerce program.
* Have excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills.
* Have strong attention to detail.
* Be resourceful and have good problem solving ability.
* Be self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision and act as a member of a team.
* Have proven ability to deal with confidential and sensitive information.
* Be proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
* Be flexible and adaptive with a strong sense of judgment and tact.

The hourly rate for this position is $14.00, plus 4% in lieu of vacation. The length of the position will be 7 weeks, for a total of 31 hours per week.
