Working closely with and reporting to the Director, Performance Measurement and Improvement the Quality Improvement & Risk Management Specialist will have a key role in ensuring that the department provides processes that enhance the quality of clinical services and information that supports evidence-based decision making. In this role, you will be responsible for the identification, measurement, monitoring and reporting of service quality, client/stakeholder satisfaction, risk management and the implementation of best practices in quality improvement and risk management that are congruent with the Centre’s quality enhancement strategy and accountability framework. As part of the department’s decision support team you will contribute to building the capacity for quality improvement and risk management both within the organization and the children’s mental health services sector.

All duties and responsibilities are performed in keeping with the agency’s Vision, Mission and Values, policies and procedures and accreditation standards.

The successful incumbent will:

* Demonstrate the ability to develop and implement processes and strategies and set standards for data collection to ensure the completeness, entry, integrity, analysis and reporting of quality data processes;
* Utilize CQI tools (e.g. process mapping) to document the development of new programs and are utilized to improve service delivery;
* Develop, design and implement data collection procedures and tools to support a culture of continuous quality improvement;
* Measure the quality of services in satisfying client/stakeholder needs and recommend quality improvement processes that can be integrated into day-to-day clinical work by consulting with staff, management, clients and stakeholders
* Exhibit applied knowledge of risk management and quality improvement processes (e.g. LEAN, Six Sigma), research methods and statistical techniques, with demonstrated experience with databases and data management processes;
* Analyze data using applicable quantitative and/or qualitative techniques to produce reports and presentations for both internal and external audiences;
* Possess excellent computer skills with demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and emphasis on using SPSS;
* Possess excellent conceptual, analytical, oral and written communication skills with proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently;
* Demonstrate the ability to take initiative and to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team;
* Possess three years directly related experience in quality improvement and risk management with a Master’s Degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience and be eligible for membership in the appropriate professional association;
* Be familiar with children’s mental health services and evaluation techniques (considered an asset);
* Have a valid Ontario driver’s license (Class G), use of a vehicle and the ability to work in a variety of settings. Some evening work may be required.
* Demonstrate sensitivity and awareness of cultural diversity issues.

The annual salary range for this position is from $58,430 to $68,355. As a full-time employee, you would also be eligible for Peel Children’s Centre’s benefit and pension plans as well as generous vacation and personal leave time.
