Peel Children's Centre (PCC) is currently recruiting for the position of Supervisor, Clinical Services. Reporting to the Manager, Clinical Services, the incumbent will supervise School Based Services (SBS) and Groups Services, specifically a staff team of clinicians who provide counselling to children referred via the SBS pathway as well as counselling across the broader Counselling and Therapy Program as required by referral demand.

Annual salary range - $76,022 - $88,345 (5 step range)

Job Summary

The incumbent will:
  • Provide clinical and administrative leadership to a team of clinicians.
  • Hire, train, evaluate, motivate, mentor, coach, train and develop staff to enable the provision of high quality service to clients.
  • Provide reflective and trauma informed clinical supervision to assigned staff.
  • Implement high quality and inclusive treatment services designed to meet individual needs of clients and their families.
  • Develop programs and program evaluation tools that reflect best practices. Working with staff, students and volunteers, maintain high quality clinical practices in treatment services.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of program(s) ensuring adequate staffing coverage and scheduling.
  • Promote continuous quality improvement within program(s) by identifying opportunities for improvement and proposing recommendations to the Manager, Clinical Services.
  • Develop and monitor program budget including expenses, and service reports.
  • Ensure compliance with Centre’s reporting, clinical recording, statistics and data entry requirements, entering program data and providing reports as required.
  • Work collaboratively with the larger management team in organization wide initiatives, ensuring consistency in policies & procedures.
  • Collaborate with other professionals and community resources to represent the Centre in the development of clinical treatment services appropriate to client needs.
  • Participate on community and/or ad hoc committees related to services within assigned area of responsibility, including the French, Catholic and Public School Boards
  • Be responsible for other related supervisory tasks


Knowledge, Education and Experience
  • Masters’ Degree in Social Work or Counselling Psychology is required.
  • Must be a Member in good standing in the appropriate regulatory College.
  • Minimum five years’ experience in providing clinical supervision in both individual and group settings.
  • Minimum 3 years of demonstrated clinical experience with clients in assessment and treatment modalities with practical knowledge of relevant legislation.
  • Certification in one or more standardized treatment modalities such as CBT, TFCBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, and OCD training is a definite asset
  • Knowledge of PHIPA legislation and the Psychotherapy Act.
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated experience with administrative and operational aspects of supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in partnership with others in a larger management team.
  • Strong MS-Office skills (Word, Excel. Power Point, Outlook), experience with client record information systems and report writing.
  • Working knowledge of budgets and financial practices in a departmental setting.
  • Available to work flexible hours according to client and/or program needs and to participate in after hours, weekend and overnight on call coverage on a rotational schedule.
  • Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Criminal Records check.
  • G Drivers’ License and access to a reliable vehicle.
